Kirindy Forest-Aye Aye and Jumping Rat Enclosure

The Aye Aye/Giant Jumping Rat enclosure in the Kirindy Forest Exhibit.
I cant imagine the aye aye being to good to see here. Nice enclosure though

So they keep Aye Aye in a diurnal exhibit at Jersey? Is that the only zoo that does?

Kirindy Forest

The Aye-aye is often active outside late in the afternoon, giving really good views.

Jersey House the majority of their aye-aye elsewhere in the zoo, although I'm not sure if the other enclosure is reverse lighting or just in a very darkened building.

This enclosure has a darkened indoor bit, but the viewing is not great in that. The best time to see them outside is at about 5:30 but the rats are often out throughout the day. There are 3 other Aye Aye enclosures, 2 which are mixed with Giant Jumping rats, and 1 singley for Aye Ayes. There is also a Jumping Rat pair in another enclosure. All of these are on Malagasy time, so they are dark for most of the day. These are situated inside the manor house, towards the Lemur Woods.

Below is one of the darkened enclosures, with mixed species. This used to house the Rodrigues Fruit Bats.

is there any actually point to that? i mean it would be just the same for the animals, i'd imagine to go on standard day reversal or what-not.

The only reason I can think of is to educate visitors about the time difference...
