I just wonder how many commemorative plates devoted to Gerlad Durrell and/or his statues are in the zoos all over the world??? I know about Miskolc Zoo in Hungary - some photos by "orycteropus" are here in Miskolc Zoo gallery (BTW - I hope that "orycteropus" will moved them to "Animal Art Gallery" soon!!). On the other hand it would be nice to find out about other statues or memorials of the famous zoo-men.

I thought this was a particularly good statue of Gerald Durrell, and very fitting to be at the entrance of Jersey Zoo. I'm sure there must be other statues around the world commemorating men like him. As you say, it would be good to see them if anyone's got photos.

Charles Darwin is another man that mey be commemorated in other zoos around the world.

I Know the sculptor John Doubleday who did this piece i believe Gerry's ashes are interned under one of the stones. I recently sold an old PCard of it on eBay.
