Riziki, you have just answered your own question, the jaguars are temporarily in the Amur tiger enclosure, whilst the Sumatran tigers are being quarantined on the rock dens.
Aha Thanks for that Kiang, So are the jags are going to go back in here?
Im visiting Endinburgh in August and i really cant wait, The zoo looks fantastic esspecially Budongo and the Cat collection.Hopefully i might get to see the last looks of Mercedes before she leaves to Highland.
Regards
It might be touch and go for you to see Mercedes, i think the plan is to get her up there for end of July, beginning of August, but you may be able to the tigers in their enclosure and the jaguars back in the rock dens.
With the ratel going to another zoo and the Amur leopards heading north to the HWP (at some point), there will be a few spare enclosures to fill up with some more amazing species.
Thanks for that Kiang i know its pretty touch and go with Mercedes but i may just be in time. If the Amur Leopards are going and i have heard that these enclosures are abit on the small size could two enclosures be used for breeding the two Jags?
Maybe a good idea for a new enclosure could be clouded leopards? or maybe Ocelots? Cats seem to go well with this enclosure could these enclosures be modified for smaller cats do you think?
Regards
MD, there are no plans at the moment to send the wolverine north, but i think in time when or if the masterplan kicks in they will eventually go to the HWP.
Riziki, the enclosures as they stand just now are more than suitable for small cats, and jaguar have been bred in the past in these enclosures
