Now that is a simplistic, yet innovative idea for the zoo! After an individual visits loads of different zoos it is often the tiny details that stand out and therefore create memorable moments. The newly renovated exhibit for sun bears at Edinburgh Zoo seems to be above average in everything: outdoor area, indoor area (surprisingly on-exhibit), visitor amenities, etc. It is fantastic to have a site such as ZooChat where additions and alterations to zoos are often photographed and uploaded within days, if not sometimes hours, after being unveiled to the public.
I heard a carpenter ring in to a radio phone-in and say, "I'm currently carving a 6ft model of a bears tongue..." . I thought it must've been Edinburgh's.

Everyone is raving about this. That window looks out onto the hornbill's enclosure! Last week I was watching people watching sun bears being watched by the hornbill!
