Egyptian vulture enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo 28/12/11

Around the corner was the hoofstock indoor area which indoors was a female Banteng!
Hmmm, i thought the house adjoining this aviary held the newly formed Persian fallow deer group, which are in the left hand side of the house, with the former camel paddock, directly behind the aviary.

They could have been off-show but the house was closed due to the female banteng and I couldn't see any other species.

Thank you for your information and speedy responses JJ, any other news from your visit?

There was a few bits:

1) I only saw Skodje the Amur leopard.
2) Mowgli the jaguar had access to both jaguar enclosures.
3) The chimpanzee group were confined indoors.
4) I only saw one wolverine.
5) Both hippos were together.
6) Steller's sea eagle courtship.
7) I didn't see the hunting dogs.
8) Only Sayang and Nadira the tapirs were on-show together.
9) I saw one Socorro dove.
10) The golden cats on the rock den row were calling to each other.
11) Baginda the tiger was in the smaller slightly off-show enclosure and Tibor was pacing in the main enclosure.
12) Only saw one Egyptian vulture.

Sorry if it's already common news.

I also met Simon McGlary which was really nice.:)

Some additional info to JJ's post. Also to add that it was also a very stormy day!
1 - Zane had access to her indoor quarters and was in there in the warm.
2 - Hoping for a female to arrive soon.
3 - Given the weather, I don't think any of them would have gone outside either! The keepers provide enrichment in the off show area in the form of puzzle feeders.
4 - If it was the top wolverine enclosure, that would be the male and the female would have been keeping a low profile.
5 - They were indeed and are quite happy together. Ellen is putting on some serious weight!
6 - all been looking promising. Lets hope they build a nest on one of the provided nest platforms! Previous attempts have been on the viewing "hut"!
7 - The hunting dogs were indoors, but with access outdoors, and were very visible around the time of the sea eagle talk! As of 29th it is now possible to see them indoors which suggests thay are now well settled.
8 - Male tapir has been getting occaisional access.
9 - Breeding socorro doves are off show.
10 - Golden cats on the back road are 4 enclosures apart! Most likely Zane calling on Skodje if it sounded like sawing wood!
11 - Tibor spends a lot of time watching Baginda when she's out and she has been known to call! Indeed they have been known to call each other. Early introductions have shown promise for the future.
12 - The other one waould be hiding somewhere no doubt.

Also, the male banteng has been off show for a little while. The zoo has moved out of the Mesopotanian fallow deer. The former camel house has been closed to the public for some time now.

I heard one of the golden cats calling at around 4pm, I thought it was the other one calling back.

The Banteng was a yellow colour so I thought it was a female.
