They have more than one golden cat enclosure? That is fantastic! Maybe I need to go there on my next trip to the UK. (Although from what I saw online yesterday - this was news to me - Scotland may not be part of the UK by the time I make it back).

Dang, that is a beautiful animal. Does Edinburgh have the only ones in captivity outside of Asia? I would think that an animal this attractive would be more widespread, but maybe their lack of reproduction in captivity prevents this?
It is a fantastic shot. I wish somebody would look at this animal properly;like the leopard cat, it is very variable, and I really wonder if some forms don't merit being treated as full species. Somewhere in Holland has/had breeding Fontanier's cats (ssp tristis), and these look very different.
One of my dreams is to photograph the ocelot morph of the asian golden cat.
As for it being the only one outside Asia, the answer is no. There are a handful of European (and perhaps Australian) zoos that have them. They are breeding at Le Parc Des Felins in France.
