I love this species of Deer but have only seen them once, at Rotterdam. The Stag's antlers seem almost too tall for the deer, but in other respects they remind me a bit of a 'grey' version of Pere David's. I like the white face/throat markings too. I hope maybe some will move into one or two other UK collections in time, preferably in the South... Woburn or Whipsnade spring to mind.
Still curious to know what happened to the rest of this large group of White-lipped Deer that were imported from Berlin Zoo. Was it 15 animals? There now seem only about 8, split between HWP(1.3) and the Scottish Deer Centre (1.2 or 2.2?)
