Yes, I saw both Siberians. I was given a summary of what was going on in the zoo, but there was no mention of moving the Lions.
 
I didn't know they were planning to move them and no one told me about it. As far as I am aware though, the original intention was to put a species of great ape where the Lions are.
 
Lar Gibbons and Orang-utans. If no one esle comes up with any information first, when I have more time I'll delve into my histoy file to see if there is anything about Orang subspecies, hybrids etc. I think Tim Kniveton sent me some information once. In the 1970s F L bred an Orang called Cody and efforts were made to teach it English!! It appeared on television and there is a book about it - I have a copy. Just thinking, Cody may have been born before the park's name change.
