Thanks Bubbles. I'm afraid I don't know what Btw means! I once sent a copy of this photo to Clinton Keeling saying it was Dumbo, but he said it was too small a calf to be the same specimen as in 1961. Unfortunately I don't own a copy of "Zoo Lady", but I think Frances/Nora Hick said Dumbo was sold to a circus after about a year or so - have you got a copy of the book?
Bubbles has very kindly sent me some newspaper articles from the 1960s and 1970s. One from 1963 mentions Doug Petrie taking an Elephant called Tania to an exhibition. I am thinking this must be Tania.
I reckon that fellow to the right, visible between the two lab-coats, is an early form of Zoochatter. Look at him, all grim and serious, hand poised as if about to start writing notes to share with others of like interest!
The photo almost looks like a "bring-your-pet" day, with a baby elephant, the chap with the python, and that woman just behind him who looks like she's holding a little kitten (but its probably a purse or something).

Bubbles has now found an article hinting that this animal could be a specimen called Dixie! Confusion reigns, but the Flamingo Park Elephant situation up until the early to mid 1970s is frequently confusing.
