taronga has bred a third litter from their pair imported from Singapore Zoo in 2005. the first cub, a female died but two males born later and this cub seem to be thriving.
not sure if taronga quite expected binturong to become such a major attraction when designing Wild Asia. i guess it comes down to Bill Conways How to exhibit a Bullfrog analogy; display any animal right and they will become a star

This is a terrific, open-air binturong exhibit and it's fantastic that there has been major breeding success thus far.

The second litter in the exhibit are a male and female cub.

It would be great to see this family! Are they all still mixed? What type of barrier does the exhibit have keeping the binturong in and are they mixed with other species?

This is a primary binturong exhibit, no other species are mixed in with them. The family are still together in the same exhibit (I think). Its kind of hard to explain the design of their enclosure, but maybe another Aussie can (im hopeless at explaining :D)

The enclosure is surrounded on 3 sides by a walking trail where visitors can see the animals, and on the 4th side there is a rock wall and this is where the night quarters are and a branch leading to the entrance. It is lushly planed with several trees, and branches placed at the visitor eye level and the animals have access to the trees as well so they can climb up high for a good vantage point. The enclosure is lushly planted, very spacious and visitors can get really close to the animals. By far the best binturong enclosure in Australia.
