I presume it must have been, but I am unable to speak from experience as I never went on it as I preferred the real animals in the zoo. It was certainly loud as Tarzan calls could be heard across the park and beyond, attracting complaints from villagers. I do know it featured, presumably just after people had alighted from the boat, an indoor cage from which a man in a Gorilla costume would "escape" and terrify those visitors who were not that quick on the uptake.
