Stocked with birds purchased at the dispersal sale at Merley. Bidding was brisk according to "Cage & Aviary Birds" with the Penguins going to Blair Drummond and Flamingo Land (said in the report to be in Scarborough). In early bidding the Penguins were going for £260 a pair but later prices reached £1,200 a pair. The total raised at the sale was reported to be £55,000. Three Green-winged Macaws were sold for £750 each and a Moluccan Cockatoo for £800. Over five hundred Fantail Doves were sold for 20 pence each.
