I was lucky to be in the zoo on this day. During my visit on the frosty 18th I had discovered the zoo had been closed one day due to ice so when frost was forecast for the 28th and 29th I did not risk visiting and chose to go when drizzle was forecast for the 30th. The 28th and 29th were glorious days after the frosty starts and I wished I had gone to F L (at least I was at Sewerby both days). Off I went on the 30th to find the drizzle falling on frozen ground, making it lethal and the zoo closed. The gentleman in the security box told me the zoo had been open and busy on the previous two days - aaagh! I trudged back to the bus stop, but was kindly rescued by the zoo's Head Keeper who had found out I had turned up a couple of minutes before the bus was due. I then enjoyed a privileged day as the only visitor including extra treats such as assisting with the Penguin feeding.
