See how 'Mr Smith's' antlers had 'gone back here? He is in hard antler(not growing velvet) but they are very small/blunted compared with some of your other photos of him.
It looks like he's got a tranquiliser dart sticking out of his chest, but maybe its just some other foreign object.
I have just looked through my notes for my next few visits and he was still around! I do remember he was eventually euthanased on the same day as a 27 years old Guanaco.
I have looked at the original photo again and I cannot make out the nature of the "tranquiliser dart".
