This is facing up the hill towards the waterfowl pool and the Meerkats, and it is the enclosure on the left as you look at them from the bottom - say by the Wapiti shelter in those days or the vacated Mangabey exhibit now. The blue railings are on the slope up to the top of the house. The trees on the right are the ones in the current Sarus Crane exhibit.
The Siberian Tigers were never 'replaced' I think one of the last two sisters (from Howletts/PL I believe??) had died, not sure if the other one has yet. They simply added Sumatrans to their collection with the intention to not get Siberians back I think
The old African Lion pair just died out and then replaced with Kumali and the others when the new enclosure was built around 2005 ish.
Carlon the old male African Lion "lives" on as a mounted specimen in the Education Centre. He was actually quite a bit younger than his mate Rhoda, but he died first. The last lions in what was the Lion and Tiger House were Asiatic specimens boarded on behalf of Chessington.
I'm sure both of the old Siberian Tigers were still alive when the Sumatrans arrived.
