The largest bear enclosure in Europe? I believe that statement, but am shocked that the infamous Glasgow Zoo was able to have some decent exhibits as I've heard nothing but bad things about how the zoo fell into ruin over the years. The bear habitat is quite overgrown in this photo, and it must have been tricky spotting the inhabitants.
This was one of two enclosures we had, the top being more managed and for both summer and winter use. Whereas the bottom enlosure which is shown here, was for the summer and housed two bears. The trees and shrubs may seem overgrown however, we let nature do her own thing, the polarding or cutting of trees were not on our agenda. Foxes, badgers, and many other good British wildlife thrived in these enlosures, and we did much research on how such interactions went on along with these bears. We had David Attenborough film for over a week, for the Life on Earth series, showing the bears...

Never believe everything and anything that spouts out of these reports from the press or any other source. It did fall into a financial ruin and those who were the trustees or the zoological society did lack knowhow and any type of acumen however, that's not to say we ran the zoo in a poor way or the animals or management of were bad or unwanting, the complete opposite....
