Just out of interest, what is the scientific name for swamp cavy? Are they just wild type guinea pigs? The only google results that come up are from Zoochat.
They are Cavia magna also known as Greater Cavy, and distinct from the wild ancestors of domestic Guinea Pig (Cavia porcellus), which are presumed to be Brazilian Cavy (Cavia aperea) and Montane Cavy (Cavia tschudii).
