Lynx canadensis. Also known as: Canadian lynx.

A homage to Jorge Sierra's lovely portrait of an Iberian lynx, which graces the front cover of Volume 1 of Handbook of the Mammals of the World.

Another great shot!

And speaking of Iberian lynx portraits, it would not be too difficult for you being in the UK. When I got mine a couple years ago I got a cheap flight from Heathrow to Sevilla (a beautiful city) and a really cheap train from Sevilla to Jerez and an even cheaper city bus from Jerez train station to ZooBotanico Jerez. (Of course I am fairly fluent in Spanish which makes it easier).

Amazing shot ro6ca66!

If Seville isn't too convenient, you might prefer to see Iberian lynx in Lisbon, or you can fly to Malaga and on a Friday take the zoo bus to see them in Selwo Aventura. ;)

You are kidding, right?!

No, Selwo Aventura received a pair of Iberian Lynx that were surplus to the breeding programme in June 2015. Slowly, they are spreading - within Iberia, anyway!

Well I have good news and bad news.

Good news is that I did see an Iberian lynx at Selwo.

Bad news is that it was hiding in some obscure corner and only saw it for a few seconds and couldn't take any photographs.

PS- I never knew it was Iberian. If I knew I would have certainly stayed longer

according to Zootierliste, they have both Spanish and northern lynx at Selwo Aventura.

When did you visit?
Looking at your pictures in the gallery, they were uploaded in April 2015 so surely you haven't seen Iberian Lynx if they arrived in June 2015.
