new aviary at the hwp

this aviary was still unfinished on 9/11/07 and is intended for waldrapp ibis.

Looks really nice and lots of space for the ibis.

What has become of this aviary? I saw it looking near completion in August 2008 and I haven't heard official announcement of it's opening.

It is still incomplete (I was there on Thursday). The sign on it said that work on the tiger enclosure had taken priority - and probably the wolves and the polar bear too. The aviary next to the lynx is being repaired or demolished too - so don't expect too many birds at HWP for the time being.

eventually yes, 3 years on and it is home to European cranes

10 years on !!
