I feel really sorry for the veterinary crew having to catch an animal for the purpose of treatment in that kind of enclosure...;)

Yes, there would be a lot of bruised skulls!

I completely agree that the Howletts enclosures look alot better than the san diego zoo exhibit and im sure the Howletts fishing cats are very comfortable. i am a layman when it comes to judging zoological gardens , however it would seem to me that there should be more emphasis put on animal enrichment and the overall welfare of the animal rather then education of the general public * that is not to say that educating the general public isnt important all i am trying to suggest is that the animals contentment should always come first. I have always found the Aspinall parks to be rather standoffish when it comes to the general public but i just consider this to add to the charm of the parks and evidence of Aspinalls total commitment to conservation rather then immense crowd pleasing exhibits. Afterall Howletts have returned many species back to the wild. The breeding record says it all Howletts and Port lympne have had tremendous success and im sure they are the envy of many a zoo around the world.

ps. i am sorry if what i wrote isnt very clear , English isnt my first language , my apologies
