African elephants Etana and minder

Extension paddock, Howletts, 10th August 2009
Hint for Howletts visitors: the best view of the elephants is from the path which passes by the rhinos and dholes and overlooks this paddock. Food is scattered here and then the elephants are released at 10 am when the zoo opens. So this is my first stop when I visit.

I don`t think that Swana though, she has much longer tusks. I guess that`s one of the teenage females babysitting, Umna or Justa.

Thank you. I admit that I made an assumption - quite unjustifiably. Elephants are not my specialised subject - although they are fun to photograph.
