I believe this is the female from Colchester and the baby is a male?

Presumably the other female has not bred recently? (she did at the pair's previous home at Le Pal in France but rejected her babies).

A pity that they can't add e.g. a couple more females to kickstart a really good group, but female Geladas aren't that readily available.

Yes, this is Sereba and her son Leena (born 04/12/10). I don't believe the other female (Jima) has bred recently.

Just to let you know Jima was sterilised before arriving at Howletts.

Pacarana - as far as I'm aware our animal director is on the advisory commitee for the Gelada EEP so has contact with co-ordinator Achim Johann. Not sure if that answers your question or not. Cheers.
