I wish morph could serve a conservation purpose in any way and I wish they could be breed without problems.

it is really an unattractive beast in my opinion. Sort of a Disney version of a tiger, or an overgrown house-cat.

OK, I'm curious about the background/parentage/genetics that produced this oddly-coloured animal. Does anybody on this forum actually know?

@ Fossa dude - thanks for that, but unfortunately it doesn't really answer my question.

:p

Its usually referred to as 'Tabbie' or 'Golden Tabbie' I think it is produced in much the same way as White Tigers, but a slightly different dilute gene is at work, giving rise to this third colour variant. This one may well have come from Longleat which has bred these in the past. I think White and 'Tabbie' (or Tabbie and Normal, or potentially all three colours) can occur in the same litter. Not sure on the parentage/genetics angle but I think one parent is normally White to produce this colouring. It has only been produced in captivity.

I think it is very unnattractive colouring.:(

I personally never use the term 'hybrid' when referring to tigers- 'hybrids' to me are only between species.
