That is an Australian sea lion bull not a leopard seal. You can tell as he has that pale cap, naked flippers and black face. I saw one just like that on Kangaroo island in 2009.

There's no external ear flaps. Surely not an otarid?

It is a leopardseal. They look like this when they are dry. And on top of that: No ears to see.

This is definitely the male leopard seal 'Casey' because the keeper was explaining how he came to be rescued!
