Red-browed Firetail Finches (Neochmia temporalis)

I really like red-browed firetails, and this is a nice photo. Is it a blow-up section from the original photo, or was it taken through a scope?

It's an enlargement and crop. Rather difficult to get close enough to them to get a decent pic of them filling the frame. If I wasn't planning another trip I'd be buying a 400mm and a 2x converter to capture these guys and those pesky little thornbills.
