I visited today and do not think the young Lesser flamingo is still in the flock . There were 6 juveniles but these were all quite large and with dark plumage , suggesting they were Carribeans .
The captive collection , which had reduced considerably in recent years seems to have been augmented with additional ducks of several species .
An early clutch of mallard ducklings were seen . No particular rarities seen amongst wild birds but good view of a female goosander in the Millenium Wetlands , where a lot of work has been carried out cutting back trees , opening up some areas .
