Southern helmeted curassow

I think this is the male, Lotherton Hall, August 2008. This is a spectacular species, but I am a little ashamed of the quality of this photo.

helmeted curassows and horned guans are extraordinary birds. I would love to see them one day

Does anybody know something about the history how these birds came to the UK ? I myself took care for the last specimen at Walsrode ( which was send to Antwerp if I remember right ) and at that time ( late 1980-ties ) these were the only specimens in Europe - at least that was what was known to us.
