This is really interesting, I'd assumed their only spare land was the sloping paddock next to the roan antelope as you go past aridlands on your right, to the picnic area. I was dismayed that they were going to put giraffe on another sloping area of land. Where in the zoo were you to photograph this site? It should be a fantastic exhibit once finished.
 
This land is to the left (as you face it with aridlands to the right) of what has always been known as the 'valley field' which currently holds roan antelope (but has held camels and mongolian horses in the past). It is a very large area but does slope down into a 'valley' and is connected to the 'valley field'. This is perhaps not obvious from the picture. I was not aware that the giraffe were to be moved to the new exhibit. Are you sure that is right?
