Kismet the giraffe in the African Valley at Marwell Wildlife, 7 June 2009

At last, I have seen a giraffe in the valley! It's a shame the others didn't take the plunge.

Looks like a pretty big place. Is the lake hotwired though? It looks like it is in this pic.

The current area the valley covers is about 25 acres, but it will eventually encompass a further 20 acres to the east. The waterhole is hotwired in the top part to allow the new trees to grow, but other than that it's totally open to the giraffe, zebra, ostrich and waterbuck.
