Young Giraffes, June 11 2009

Best photo I could get at the time. Is one of these the new baby? I\'ve no idea I\'m afraid, but the Giraffe house was open.

I think these two are calves born last year. They're too big for any of them to be the calf born last week.

That's what I suspected, but thought I'd ask anyway as I dont' mind admitting I know virtually nothing about Giraffes!

I can confirm that these two are definitely last year's calves, Christa and Tiye. Having seen the new calf today, he is much smaller and is confined to the house and hardstanding with his mum Isabella. The others are in the bongo paddock and have access to the African Valley (which is where Kismet likes to hang out).
