Do you know what species of Wildebeest ? Where was this taken in the park?

They are a pair black wildebeats that arrived not too long ago from newquay zoo (who also have a pair)

They're the second pair of Black Wildebeest/White-tailed Gnu that have been moved on from Newquay.

EDIT: Sorry, foz, we cross-posted!

As for location it's the first hardstanding on the left of the coati enclosure, with access to the chapman's zebra paddock. After some time here they are planned to move into the African Valley.

I take back what I said about the valley; apparentley the volunteers at the info desk who told me that were misinformed.

Black Wildebeest ! Bugger! If I'd known that when we were there ( 3rd July ), I'd have tried to spot them! Never seen one yet!
As we live NE of Manchester, it's not as if we can just pop down for a visit!

It's alright, they're not on show yet, so you wouldn't have missed anything. I'm really hoping they'll be out this Sunday when I help out on the oryx club's trail day, cos it'll probably be my last chance to go to the park for a few weeks (long time for me!).
