Nice photos Marwell Dalek! This latest series from Marwell offers up the best views of the new snow leopard exhibit, which is a decent size in terms of both width and height. Is there more than one leopard (Yasmin) there? Do the leopard(s) have access to all of the rocky ledges in the enclosure? Does anyone know the size of the exhibit, either in terms of square meters or feet?
When the enclosure was built in 2005, three snow leopards moved in; Kiril, Yasmin and their daughter Binu. Binu moved soon after their next cub, Vischu, was born. He moved last year, and Kiril unfortunately died in the same year. A new pair of snow leopards from Helsinki is due to arrive at some point in the near future, and to facilitate the different social structures a divide can be created to split the exhibit. Yes, the snow leopards have full access to the ledge and access off-show indoor quarters in the middle of it, as for size I do not know, but at an approx I'd say half an acre.
