Gamin and Yenna the Amur Tigers

Their just massive!

Gamin is absolutely huge: One of his favourite sleeping spots is his indoor platform that's positioned right next to the viewing window, and you're left awe struck!

do you know his approx. weight?

You'll have to ask one of the keepers for that, but the fact he is the size of a small cow gives a good idea!

I'm not doubting you on that!

The ones I saw there in 1988 were massive, I would say they along with the Amurs at Howletts are the largest I have ever seen

I bet one of them was Ivan; he was the last of the original 'Marwell Tigers' who died in 2007 after athritic problems, but he had a long life at Marwell and is probably most famous for accepting Zambar, the unrelated cub who was the son of his arch enemy Gamin, to live with him. For a while a few years ago whilst the tiger house was renovated and the two main enclosures were occupied by the breeding pair, Ivan resided in the old lion enclosure. It was a much smaller space, so you could realise just how massive he was.
