I realize that this exhibit is heritage listed, but what does that mean for its future? When the aging spider monkeys eventually all die off can the exhibit be dramatically overhauled as long as the existing shape and roof are maintained?

Hopefully it can be renovated an maintained as an exhibit for something more suitable - any suggestions?

It's almost in the middle of the Australian section so I would have suggested tree kangaroos or koalas but both species have multiple exhibits quite close to here.

Could it be used as a small stage for keeper talks or something - perhaps with reptiles? I don't know if there is much space around it though to accommodate a crowd?

There are currently tree kangaroos in that exhibit.

Does that mean that the spider monkeys have moved off-show or have they been sent elsewhere (unlikely due to their age) or died? Apparently the male was only temporarily staying at Taronga I think.

Also I presume that the tree kangaroo is Nupela (Parum x Kwikila)?

According to someone on Flickr it is in fact Parum who has moved into this exhibit.
