LaughingDove

Hummingbird Display - NHM London

Taken 23rd December 2015
Is this the case that was once part of Bullock's Museum?

It is believed to be although apparently its provenance is uncertain.

According to the link below:-

"Unfortunately the origin of this magnificent case is not clear. Our best guess is that it came from collector William Bullock's personal museum, the contents of which was sold at auction in 1819."

I see you visited on the 23rd of December LaughingDove, did you watch any of the AnimalVision shows in the Attenborough studio?

Unfortunately I did not, no. I went to the museum with my family so I didn't have as long there as I would have liked. I'll have to go by myself next time.

That's a shame, I was presenting that day and it's one of the only places in the museum where you can see live animals.

If you go again check out the spirit tour, where you go under the museum and see specimens that most of the public cannot see, including the Darwin specimens and also a preserved giant squid!
