Puma at Newquay Zoo, 1997.

the slanting fence makes this look more like the fossa dens than the lynx enclosure where i thought thye were kept.
 
I don't know where the Fossas are kept but certainly at one time the Pumas used to be in the large enclosure where the Lynx are. You could view their indoor area by going into a little tunnel. I imagine the Fossas are in one of those small original cages which even contained Lions early on. It does look like the cage in this photo so maybe the last Pumas were moved over, so that they have been kept in both areas at different times?

Exactly that - what is now the lynx enclosure was built as a new home for the Pumas. Before that they lived in what is now the Fossa enclosure.
 
thanks all! i knew lions were kept in the fossa enclosure (thanks to a previous thread) but did not realise thye were also kept in the fossa enclosure
