i dont think this is a badly built exhibit!
I`m sorry but if this was to be built at Chester or any where else everybody would be up in arms saying how could they build an enclosure that badily, the problem is they build everything very quickly and don`t pay any attention to the final details like making sure everything is secured properly!!!!!

Ok, from the picture it looks well made, it looks like they put some effort into it + if it wasn't well made we would have "Gibbons escaping from Christian Zoo" plastered over the news?.

why are you comparing it to chester when they are in two different league?! It's like you might aswell compare a puddle and the pacific ocean for fish.

Tbh the only probelm i see with this it is as aesthetically pleasing and some other enclosure, it seems good enough for them.

if you don't like my opinon, tough, i have every right to express my opinion and not get it stamped down and say it's wrong.

The probably with this is there is a lack of furniture in the exhibit for such active apes, at least Twycross's enclosures are filled with poles that cross the enclosure and ropes to allow them to exhibit some natural behaviour.

Secondly the site it is built on is total unsuitable for such a highly strung ape, at Chester and even Twycross the gibbons can sit away from the public, but here they are completely surrounded and at the same height.

With more climbing furniture in there and some plants it would make a good exhibit for another primate like squirrel monkeys or Capuchins but this as it stands is a disgrace for an ape.

In that case I suggest you visit the place and see it for yourself because I will be very surprised if you think the same after having seen the place for yourself,I know very few people who actually think the place that do and the ones that do say they only like it because of how good the childrens play area is for the kids.
As for comparing it to Chester yes they are 2 different leagues but my point still stands that its not good enough,if you want some where on the same level as this place try Gentleshaws(Sorry Trigger if you read this) they have to work on even smaller budget tehn Noahs and they can build something of better build and finish than noahs ever will be.You are quite right you are aloud to have opinon that is different than mine, and no where in any of my posts did I stamped down on it or say your opinon was wrong but if you took my post as that then tough luck because I`m not changing the way I post just because I my upset the odd person on here!

How Big is Small

Isn’t it amazing how you can make a photo look however you like!
The Gibbon gallery is actually 85ft long and 21ft wide 14ft tall at its lowest point and 24ft high at its highest point, plus the extension area that will be used when the family increase in numbers that is an additional 36ft x18ft and 24ft high. In addition to this is the indoor house that is 36ft long 18 ft wide and has 12ft high ceilings’. The total area used at present by the gibbons is 42,838 cubic feet outside and 7,212 cubic feet inside. With an additional area available when required.
I think this is more than a lot of UK zoos provide for a family of three.

Isn't it amazing how, even after doing this three times, you don't seem to recognise that the all guns blazing approach does not seem to be working! If you read this thread, you would see that many people's argument is not the lack of space, but exhibit furniture which does not appear sufficient to allow the gibbons to brachiate. This could be easily and cheaply rectified but, to many people's annoyance, it is not. I understand your loyalty to NAZF, but it does not help zoos if you follow them blindly and ignore all other points of view.

I could agree about the furniture and I expect that a constructive subjection would be a good thing. But at this moment I am just trying to put the truth out there as a lot of what I have read is just either made up with no information, maybe a guess, or just a deliberate attempt to mislead. I didn’t think that this site was for that. I came to look for good ideas and found this.

You will find that on this site, good zoos are lavished with praise whilst those that are deemed to be not so good are, shall we say, not. As NAZF generally falls into the latter category, members are often less than sympathetic and will often point out its failings. However, I see it as misinformation on your part to say that it this is "made up" or an "attempt to mislead" as what you are arguing against are generally people's opinions and their views on how something NAZF could be improved - these can not be shown to be correct or incorrect.

I relish the possibility of listening to honest opinions that are put forward as such, but dislike posts that are worded as factual statements that are actually opinions.

Well, unfortunately we do get a lot of that here. Even on collections besides NAZF.
