ive got a feeling that originally the caoti and gibbon enclosures were supposed to be just for gibbons then they saw the size and made it into 2 cages. Why else would they need such a tall cage with a roof for caotis?
You would be surprised just how much the Coatis make full use of the height of their enclosure, so at least its useful to know just how high they like to climb

In the 5 year plan you announced 3 years ago that you were planning on getting zebras (got), lions (got),Elephants(getting) and bears.
Any news on the bears?
When it comes to animals and zoos I will form my own opinion on what I have seen myself and through any research I have also done on the subject, likewise I hope the other posters on here do the same. This is a forum for discussion and if we all agreed on everything it would be a very boring forum indeed. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

in the wild coatis range from the forest floor all the way up into the canopy and are excellent climbers. Its just that most zoos don't really cater to this aspect of their biology

I have no problem with talking to anybody hate us or love us.
Yep, I am involved in construction of all the buildings, services and play equipment.
We are working towards Elephants in two or three year’s time, possibly we will find time to look at Bears before that but I don’t know if or when it will happen. I personally would love to have Sun bears, I think they are great but it’s not my call.
I don’t think there are any immediate plans for anything else different , the normal stock changes of animals we already have. At present we are involved in planning for the projects mentioned before and upgrading existing buildings as well as adding to and improving the play facility’s.
For this siamang enclosure, how about a series of horizontal poles placed high up and parallel to each other, so the Siamangs could brachiate along the whole length of the cage and so make more complete use of it? Very thick bamboo ones would be suitable.
