Evidently they are fans of the Old Testament style of punishment :p

I always thought it was Christians who were thrown to the lions? My how times have changed... :p

I imagine if this sign was at Chester, you would be saying "I love this sign! How fantastic!"

In fairness, no-one has said it's bad - just took the opportunity for various Christian jokes (of varying quality!)!

What is more amusing to me is the zoo's logo in the bottom right-hand corner, as there are two giraffes, two rhinos and a rainbow in the background. Sheesh! Also, the slogan "Home of the BIG zoo animals" is most definitely a cheap knock on Bristol Zoo's 5-acre facility and its smaller critters.

It is a hard advertising statement, very much designed to lure families away from the alternative(Bristol Zoo).

Bristol Zoo is actually about ten acres. In the 1950/60's and up to then, they had everything sizewise Noah's Ark has now and much more into the bargain. Even now its a far superior collection though it has few of the big animals, something Noah's has capitalised on.

Was just looking through photos to answer a question on the tiger ponds and came across this and for what isn’t worth have to put in a penny’s worth, maybe somebody is still going to read it (old treads and all that)

The general feeling at Noah’s Ark is that Bristol zoo is a very good zoo and we do not want to poke fun at them in any way, or take any on their guests from them. Most of us would like people to visit both.

I personally think that Bristol zoo dose a brilliant job in there 12 acre site. They have the budget for the more high tec. stuff like the sea lion/ penguin enclosure, they do wonders with their landscaping and although not as good as they used to be the gardens are very nice.
There is nothing to compare with an old well established attraction.

Only Christians are fed to the lions and then only when they sacrifice them self’s for the good of others.

I imagine the Noah's Ark lions would be carefully trained not to eat anyone who wasn't a Christian; 'only the best for our Lions'

Working on the theory “you are what you eat” a lot of lions must come from a Christian background themselves.
