Javan Rhino 6 Oct 2011 Interesting, never heard/seen anything like a 3rd horn (kind of knackers the scientific name DI-ceros BI-cornis ). Can anybody explain what has caused this abnormality and are there any other known examples?

Incidentally, a photograph from Magdeburg Zoo of a black rhinoceros, with a small third horn, is featured in the book “The Rhinoceros in Captivity” (L. C. Rookmaaker; 1998).
