A touch of 'slash and burn' on the Gorilla Island after a large tree fell down last week. They seem to be taking the opportunity to 'tidy up' the island. Hope they stop before they reach the Twycross manicured lawn stage.

Unless they go too far, generally the more they cut, the thicker the vegetation should come back next year but obviously the tree won't be replaced. Maybe they will leave the trunk for them?

Hope you're right. There's no chance of the gorillas hiding at the moment. It would be good if they could replace Pertinax's long-gone shelter while they're working there, or even have more than one.
