Where was this please? I see there was a summer Pets Corner by the Avenue Yards in the 1970s, but this does not look like that site on the map. Is it in that general area though? It does look quite flat.
Although I described it as a Ranch area, I'm afraid I can't say where it was. None of it looks familiar to me As you know, there aren't many flat areas in the zoo!
I've looked at the tapir/anoa/bat houses today and their back views do look a bit like these buildings.
You have to realise that when I took these photos I was almost embryonic My main concern would have been the people in front of the animals/enclosures, unlike now I have little memory of Paignton before its big make-over, alas.
I think we shall have to plump for it being in that area - it is fairly flat after all. I took a photo of the back of the wall along the Tapir paddock last September, it could have been a bit different forty-five years ago.
