Chusan Paddock Redevelopment

Could be nice, but not convinced all the species depicted will get along. Certainly White-faced Whistling Ducks won't parent-rear with Ground Hornbills around.

It's hard to be sure, but it looks as though there could be a dividing fence across the middle of it.

I am wondering what the bird perched on the termite mound is supposed to be - possibly a francolin ?

I had a look at this development today. There is now a central division and one half has a net roof, the other has the supports for a net in place.
I hope that the ground hornbills will fly a little; they look so spectacular with their white primaries.

Going to be nice but there will be a constant battle of power between the cranes and hornbills! And if the cranes breed they will have to be on constant watch! Suppose we can only wait and see :-s

The story so far is that the Cranes are in one half of the enclosure, with some Whistling Ducks, and the Hornbills are by themselves in the other half.
