Demo was fairly gentle, but determined. Gambira was more interested in the cabbage.

They often develop very rapidly, in the pace of just a few months sometimes. Often after several years of being stuck in a sort of subadult stage with little development happening.
In Sumatrans particularly, the males can sometimes be as old as 18 years before they develop all the full signs of maturity( Cheek pads, throat sac, thick shaggy coat, 'long calling'). Being kept in proximity of an older male can sometimes inhibit development for some while too. But some males mature a lot faster than that though.
