The little guy was very active in the sun - it was beautiful for my visit on Sunday. It amazes me that such a small and slow-moving animal can be such a challenge to photograph. I got a few nice head-on shots, but I posted this one because it just about shows his face, front foot and that incredible 'backwards' hindfoot.

How did Paington acquire their Echidna?

They got a pair from Bristol in 1994, when said collection decided to go out of the species. The female of the pair died about 5 years ago now.
