This is finished and is certainly popular. In fact, as a child tried to go into the Tropical House shortly after entering the zoo today, he was stopped by his parents who said they were going to the new play area.
In my extremely biased and jaundiced view, the happiest children in the zoo are the ones whose parents are engaging with them and telling them about the animals. A rare and welcome sight among those whining about slides and icecreams.......
I do realise that the zoo needs all of their entrance fees

Paignton have a massive flaw in regards to playgrounds; the one just before you get to the bird breeding centre! It's too close to the entrance, fortunately there's a picnic area that doesn't overlook it!
I don't mind the kids playing on the playgrounds at the zoo but I'd prefer to wait until we've seen most of the zoo first!
A few years a go when I was still playing on the play areas I would just go on the play area when I got to it, but I always made sure I would see all the animals and not go on it if I didn't have time.
