they are sometimes known as Crested Bronzewings, although it isn't that common. Curiously, Forshaw and Cooper use this as the preferred name in their Pigeons and Doves in Australia, with Crested Pigeon listed under "other names".
I don't believe in being too fussy about common names because they are a minefield. But if there is a choice I usually prefer the more descriptive one. I know either name can be used for this species, but other pigeons have crests and this species does have lovely bronze wings QED
