The Palms has never kept Babarusia. Nor will they ever because it is closing for good on 5th September It was most likely intended to be used for Tortiose in good weather
The land on which The Palms is currently situated is being sold off for housing. Initally it was planned that The Palms would be relocated to the new location with the Garden Centre which is also on the current site. Visitor numbers have however dropped in recent times and it's now been decided that they aren't making enough money to justify rebuilding it elsewhere and hence they have now decided to close it down.
As with most zoo's that close down the animals are being re-homed in other collections and with private keepers.
