Brazilian Tapir and Mara paddock at Paradise WP, Broxbourne 25/07/09

So i'm guessing the pool area is for the tapir and I can see the mara so whats the grassy hill area?

There was nothing using it at the time but given there's a gate leading to it I guess it's just an extra paddock that the tapirs and mara can use; maybe it's not used too often to keep it green? The tapirs were lying down against the back fence just out of shot the right.

the whole paddock is used but the green area is for grazing usualy one week on, one week off. otherwise it turns to sludge very quickly.
the pool is around 5ft deep and the tapirs can submerge in it which is nice

They could have a small gap in the fence so that only the mara can get in and see how that works.

they do they fit under the fence around the other side of the pool, thats what the little house/mound is for, the mara can come and go continualy but tapir in shifts.
