Great picture of the family Mhale. What did you think to the enclosure? Its a deacent size just seems abit on the muddy side quite alot of the time.
Did you get any pics of Turkana and Mana the (normal) lions? - Turkana was the first lion I saw he's fab.Fantastic looking individual too.

Isn't there a second young lioness in with the white lions? I've seen pictures of a white lioness and a normalish coloured lioness in the same enclosure??

Bisa went to Uganda with Zara - Zara was born at Linton Zoo but had to be handreared she was sent to Uganda in a joint effort mainly headed by Paradise. Bisa wasnt really needed anymore with the two cubs Themba and Izulu and according to things I have seen she made good friends with Zara.
The Lion project is sending them to a Wildlife Reserve in Udanda so that new genes can slowly by added to the suffering population in that area.

Im not entirely sure. I wouldnt of thought so maybe some future cubs but im really not sure. Would'nt introducing White Lions into Uganda be a bad risk? - With Poachers doing anything to get their hold on lions it could be even worse.

Paradise Wildlife Park are just irresponsible for breeding the white lions. They are just as bad as West Midlands. I mean, fair enough if they want to exhibit the whites, fair enough, but why breed them. If anything, breed their normal lions, unless castrated?

Turkana and Mana are siblings both born in 1996 - They were the last to be born at the Park.
Honestly I dont see the harm of having one litter of cubs from these two.
But West Mids have gone very over the top and its all unnecessey breeding. Paradise have the room but im hoping this will be the only litter for now.

I also thought the enclosure was a decent size. At first, Thabo and Kya were resting indoors and the cubs were up on the platform in the smaller part of the outdoor enclosure, but later on, they were together on the platform in the larger part of the enclosure, as you can see. The visitor walkway was a real help in getting such close-up photos of them. I did feel bad that the public can walk into the indoor areas for all the big cats (except the snow leopards where you can look through a window instead) as they have no privacy in there.

Yes, I did get photos of Turkana and Mana, a couple of which I am attaching (please excuse the quality of the photo of Mana due to reflection from the glass). I had a nice chat with the keeper who has known them all their lives and he explained how poorly Turkana was as a cub. For those who might be wondering, Turkana has been vasectomised as he is living with his sister.

Thanks Mhale - Turkana is a fantastic looking individual.
I think I may of had conversations with the same keeper he and Turkana definately have a very strong bond.
I agree completely with you thats one of my biggest dislike with Paradise the lack of privacy for the animals especially for the cats they can never get away from the visitors - This is one thing I particularly dislike and I think the idea of Howletts/Port Lympne having all cat houses with no visitor's allowed in is a great idea.
Turkana is indeed a great lion and he was the first lion I ever saw right back in 2001 so he is very special to me
Attached at the bottom are picture's of Turkana and Manan during 2001 on my very first visits. During this time they were kept with a Bengal Hybrid Tiger Indy who was handreared with them at the time. sadly having been together for 6 years or so Turkana and Mana began to notice something different and they had to be seperated from Indy. Indy spent time at Paradise being moved from Cat Enclosure to another and she is now in retirement at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation in Kent (Paradise's Sister Collection) and she is doing fine having been there for about 4 years now.
